Dr. Herrera graduated from Barry University as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) in 2012, after completing his internship and residency at Mercy Hospital. He has a background in orthopedic surgery, graduating from the University of Havana in 1986.
Dr. Herrera became interested in stem cells during his residency at Mercy Hospital. He later began working with long-time friend Dr. Castellanos, using stem cell therapy to help ankle and foot patients.

Besides specializing in stem cell therapy, Dr. Herrera is at the forefront of innovative techniques and special procedures in podiatry to correct a variety of conditions. Dr. Herrera effectively combines his experience in podiatry with his experience in stem cell procedures.
