Since 1973, Dr. John Bates has been providing our pet population with veterinary care at Imperial Animal Hospital. He started as a volunteer, and eventually returned as a general practitioner 10 years later. In 1986, he became owner of Imperial Animal Hospital.

Dr. Bates received his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He then attained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Bates excelled in veterinary school, receiving the American Animal Hospital Association’s Student Award for proficiency in both medicine and surgery.
