Dr. Hester graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then graduated from Medical School at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where he was a Justin Potter Scholar, recipient of the Kaufman Prize in Medicine, and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a national honor society for medicine.

Dr. Hester completed his internship and Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Services in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dr. Hester is now an Assistant Professor at the University Of Alabama School Of Medicine, Montgomery Campus.
