Born and raised in the Czech Republic, Dr. Hlousek started his education at the Charles University School of Medicine in Pilsen. His education continued in the United States at Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia where he received his D.M.D. degree in 1993. After graduating from dental school he started hi residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. His training stimulated his interest in treating patients with dental implants, removal of wisdom teeth, correction of jaw deformities, cosmetic facial surgery and correction of cleft lip and palate. As part of his residency training Dr. Hlousek also completed studies at the School of Medicine in New Jersey and received his M.D. degree in 1996. Following this he completed a year of training in general surgery and gained additional experience in areas of cosmetic surgery, vascular surgery and trauma.

I took my daughter in for a scheduled appointment for a preliminary exam with Dr. Borek Hlousek re wisdom teeth extraction. After checking in and filling out forms at the front desk, we waited 50 minutes before I again approached the desk and asked what the "holdup" was as we had been waiting 50 minutes past our scheduled appointment. I was asked my name again and then told I was next to be "called back" to see the doctor. We were the only ones left in the reception area anyway so that did not make us feel too special.
