Shelley was born in Peterborough, England and became a naturalized citizen in 2006. She comes from a military family and has lived all over the US, including Ohio, California, Tennessee, and Nevada. Shelley graduated from Auburn University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and is a 2008 graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine.The aspects of veterinary medicine she has a strong interest in is pet behavior, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and small mammals/exotic pets. She enjoys hiking and the outdoors, birding, photography, and movies. She and her husband,  Aaron, moved to Kentucky in 2010. They have a bubbly and energetic daughter, Lily and a stubborn but loveable 8 year old corgi mix named Rocco.
