Dr. Abt was born and raised in Prescott and attended Abia Judd Elementary, Granite Mountain Middle School, and Prescott High School. His passion for patient care developed at a young age while working in his father’s OB/GYN practice. He was able to witness firsthand the delicate and trusting relationship between his father and his patients and wanted to return to Prescott to provide care to the people in his hometown.

After obtaining a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, he began dental school at the University of Connecticut in 2005. While at UConn, he excelled clinically and academically, earning multiple awards for academic achievement and graduated 1st in his class. He was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. Upon graduation from dental school, he began a 6 year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Alabama – well known for its tradition in Oral Surgery.
