Dr. Alber received his undergraduate degree from Thomas Jefferson University in 1985. After graduating Summa Cum Laude in his class, he was accepted into the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Medical School. He graduated in 1990 with Alpha Omega Alpha honors.

After finishing medical school in 1990, Dr. Alber completed both his surgical internship and residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, University Hospital, Newark, NJ. He completed his training in 1996 and has been
in private practice since that time.

Dr. Alber received his board certification by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1998 and recertified in 2008.
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the New Jersey Orthopaedic Society.
