Dr. Barbaris received her Bachelor degree in biochemistry with a minor in animal and poultry science at Virginia Tech. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing her clinical year at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.

Although born and raised in northern Virginia, Dr. Barbaris now calls Hudson County home. She currently lives with her 2 dogs (“Carib” rescued in the Caribbean and “Angel” rescued in Virginia) and cat (“Laney”). Most of her free time is spent hiking with her dogs, playing soccer, or cheering on the NY Giants.
