Dr. Firas Hijazi co-founded Louisiana Pain Specialists in 2011. He is a double-board certified Interventional Pain Management Specialist and Anesthesiologist and a certified diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesia. Dr. Hijazi is originally from Jordan, and earned his medical degree from the University of Brescia in Italy, where he received a scholarship to study medicine. While he was there, he learned Italian and wrote a thesis on gastric cancer.

Dr. Hijazi came to the United States in 1999 to continue his education and be closer to his family, who had previously immigrated to the New Orleans area. He completed his medical residency in anesthesia at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans.
