  • Ruined my life
After years of painful achilles issues I allowed Dr. Schroeder to perform surgery with FHL transfer. It became very apparent during PT that all was not well. While he agreed things did not look right on X-rays or MRI, he had no solutions or ideas to help, and took no responsibility for my condition. I am in far worse shape than I was before the surgery and regret my decision to let him operate on me every day. He just left me in pain with what is obviously a failed procedure.....just sent me on my way.
  • Failed surgery
Before and after my achilles tendon surgery, I received minimal communication and/or discussion about my procedure. When worsening pain and complications arose after surgery, Dr. Schroeder pretty much sent me away with a handshake and a smile. I am in far worse shape than I was before the surgery. . I have pain walking every single day. Patients are real people with real lives who suffer greatly from failed procedures like this. If the pain is worse after the surgery, I do consider it a failed surgery. The least he could do is stick around and see it through.
  • knowledgeable
Dr. Schroeder was knowledgeable and cared about my issue. However he didn't ask much in the way of background information about my injury. Hopefully the followup appointment will help clarify my injury and treatment plan.
  • recommended!
This was similar to my other thee other (unrelated) experiences with Sports Medicine Oregon physicians: Excellent. Dr. Schroeder was friendly, thorough and seemed very knowledgeable. He explained the diagnosis and all the options. He recommended we begin with the least invasive option and gave me a timetable as to how I should see results.
