Dr. Rubano was born and raised near Scranton, PA. He attended Villanova University where he graduated summa cum laude with a 3.99 GPA and a degree in Biology. While at Villanova, he received numerous scholarships and awards including being named to Phi Beta Kappa and graduating first in his class. After college, Dr. Rubano obtained his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha.
Upon completion of medical school, Dr. Rubano entered an orthopaedic surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center. Following residency, he accepted the prestigious Otto E. Aufranc Fellowship in hip and knee replacement surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, MA. While in fellowship, Dr. Rubano received extensive training in both primary and revision hip and knee replacements along with advanced skills in minimally invasive surgery, computer-navigated surgery, and the use of alternative bearing joint surfaces such as ceramic and metal. He is one of the few orthopaedic surgeons in the area performing hip resurfacings.
