Dr. Neway is a board-eligible, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of complex spine problems and the latest minimally-invasive procedures. Dr. Neway attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received the Joanne Pieringer, PhD, Memorial Scholarship and graduated with honors. He then completed a rotating surgery internship and trained in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. As a resident, Dr. Neway developed an interest in minimally invasive spinal techniques and assisted in the first surgeries of this type performed at the university. After finishing his residency, he went on to complete a combined orthopaedic and neurosurgery spine fellowship at Yale University. Before coming to the Hughston Clinic, Dr. Neway joined the faculty of the University of Alabama-Birmingham, a level 1 trauma facility, as assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
