Dr. Ashley Anderson grew up in Ithaca, NY, where she enjoyed figure skating and skiing. As an athlete herself, Dr. Anderson’s interests in sports medicine and surgery were formed at a very young age. She received a BA in Biology from the University of Virginia and her Medical Degree from Chicago Medical School. She completed an intern year in General Surgery at SUNY Buffalo. She then returned to upstate New York to complete her Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, NY.

Dr. Anderson’s interest in arthroscopy and sports led her to complete a fellowship at Pennsylvania State University in Sports Medicine under the leadership of her fellowship director Dr. Wayne Sebastianelli. Through her fellowship she enjoyed providing medical coverage for the Penn State athletic teams, including the famed football Nittany Lions.
