Dr. Vela is an experienced plastic surgeon, board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the prestigious American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Vela’s years of surgical experience encompass Maxillofacial surgery, General surgery and Plastic surgery, including cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.

Dr. Vela received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, where he also received training in General surgery. In addition to extensive training at the University of Maryland Medical System, he also received training in complex maxillofacial trauma reconstruction at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
