Surgeons and other clinicians in the University of Iowa Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation provide care for patients with a variety of diseases and injuries of the bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments. They work with comprehensive teams of care providers including physical therapists, rehabilitation specialists, nurses, advanced care providers, as well as other healthcare professionals to manage and care for virtually every orthopedic condition. Our clinicians employ the most up-to-date techniques for diagnosis and treatment of the orthopedic patient.
The department’s facilities include 48 orthopedic beds, ten outpatient clinics, inpatient and outpatient operating rooms, a specialty library, a specialty radiology unit, and physical therapy and rehabilitation facilities.
