Born and raised in Florida, Dr. Borges began his medical studies at the University of Miami where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He then continued his studies at the American university of the Caribbean school of medicine and the Royal London Hospital Medical College in London, England where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree.

He did his internship in Internal Medicine at east Tennessee state university, Quillen College of medicine, and his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine / Jackson Memorial Hospital. He then did a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Miami School of medicine/ Jackson Memorial Hospital. He has been in private practice for 15 years, and he places a strong emphasis in preventive care and holistic medicine.
