was born and raised on a 240 acre farm in west central Wisconsin with nine brothers and sisters. I completed my masters degree in nutrition at the University of Kentucky and my veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota. My desire to learn more didn’t stop with my veterinary degree as I then went on to complete an internship program in Canada and later a surgical and lameness residency at the University of California-Davis in 1993. My wife Shannon, our four children and I reside on a farm with our horses and other animals. We have an interest in sport horses and are currently breeding warmbloods for dressage and jumping. Our childrens’ horse interests allow us to go on family trail rides. They are also very helpful in caring for the older/retired horses and ponies that we have at our farm.
