Dr. Blackman earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine, graduating with honors, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He also completed an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Additionally, Dr. Blackman is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Dr. Blackman has extensive experience serving as a team physician for various high school, amateur, college and professional sports teams. He is currently the team physician for St. Louis Priory School and Wentzville Liberty High School.
