Dr. Axel Zander received his MD from the University of Lübeck, Germany and completed his internship, residency and fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Illinois. He served on the Faculty at both the University of Illinois and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas before becoming Chief of BMT at the Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco. He served as director of the BMT program in Hamburg Germany.
