Dr. Schultz is a native of Independence, Missouri who completed his undergraduate studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas graduating Summa Cum Laude. He went on to obtain his doctor of medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine in Columbia. Dr. Schultz has remained in Columbia where he completed a residency in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics.

Dr. Schultz joined Columbia Orthopaedic Group in 2008 and specializes in sports medicine and non-operative orthopaedic care. He is one of seven sports medicine physicians at Columbia Orthopaedic Group and assists in the treatment and care of student-athletes at the University of Missouri-Columbia and other colleges and universities around mid-Missouri. He is also the team physician at Hallsville High School.
