I grew up in Utah, the 2nd of 15 children. I enjoy spending my free time with my lovely wife and 7 children. In medical training I was once told to; “treat each patient as family.” This statement struck deeply with me and is something I try to do with each patient I treat.

I was born in a US Military hospital in Germany. I continued the family tradition by serving 19 years in the US Army. My last 10 years of service were on active duty as a doctor and orthopedic surgeon. I am honored to have spent 7 months in Iraq treating the many brave men and women who were injured while deployed. I attended Brigham Young University in Provo, UT where I earned my bachelor’s of science in Russian in 1995.
