Dr. Leavitt was born and raised in the Las Vegas area having resided in North Las Vegas as a child and Henderson as a teenager. He graduated from Green Valley High School in 1997 and later from Brigham Young University with a bachelor degree in Economics. It was during this time that he also lived, for two years, in the western region of Argentina. He developed a love of the Argentine culture, food and language. He maintains fluency in Spanish.

Dr. Leavitt attended dental school at Oregon Health & Science University. He enjoyed the majestic Oregon landscape for four years and graduated with honors in 2007. He was also inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and received the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Implant Award as a dental student. Fueled by research and clinical exposure to the field of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, he applied and was accepted directly into residency for training as a specialist.
