Dr. Decoteau grew up in Groton, Massachusetts, and graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Business Administration. He then went on to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honors Society.
After dental school, Dr. Decoteau matriculated in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program at Tufts University. As part of his training, he completed 6 month rotations in both general surgery and anesthesia. During residency, Dr. Decoteau remained active in research. He studied the incidence and causative factors of osteomyelitis of the jaws as well as the risk factors associated with third molar surgery. His interests in oral surgery include implantology, orthognathics and dentoalveolar surgery.
