Born in Hartford, Connecticut. Dr. Donofrio is a retired Captain, having faithfully served both in the Connecticut Army National Guard and the United States Air Force Reserve. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Charter Oak State College, New Britain, CT and his master’s degree as a Physician Assistant from Yale University School of Medicine in 1991, after which, he practiced as a Physician Assistant for 20 years both in the Air Force and in the community.

He received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 2005 from Saba University School of Medicine, Saba, Netherlands Antilles. He completed a residency in Family Medicine from the Savannah Family Medicine Program, Savannah, GA in 2010. Dr. Donofrio has been a provider for Island Doctors since 2003, originally as a Physician Assistant and now as a medical doctor.
