David M. Dunning, MD was selected to the Health Profession Scholarship Program and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hematology/Medical Oncology at Madigan Army Medical Center. Part of his fellowship was spent as a visiting fellow in the Fred Hutchinson Bone Marrow Transplant Program. Following completion of his training, he became a member of the Hematology/Medical Oncology staff at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and joined the faculty of the Uniformed Services University. He received an MS in physiology from the University of Virginia.
