He is a Diagnostic Radiologist, certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR), is skilled in all aspects of diagnostic radiology including Standard and Functional MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, DMX and Interventional Radiology.

Obtained a fellowship in Angiographic and Interventional Radiology, subsequently serving as Director of Special Procedures at UAMS upon completing his fellowship in 1982. In 2002, he completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology from Proscan Imaging of Cincinnati, OH.

Dr. Harshfield has been working with NASA studying and demonstrating the effects of microgravity on the human Central Nervous System and with the NFL studying Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
