Dr.  Dilshan Gunawardena was raised in Studio City, California. He graduated Cum Laude and obtained his Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of California at Los Angeles.  Dilshan Gunawardena, DMD, was accepted to Tufts School of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine Degree. In dental school, he was on the Deans List for his high performance on the National Board Exams. He went on to complete his medical training at Stony Brook University Hospital where he earned his Doctorate in Medicine. After completing his General Surgery Internship, he served as chief resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Prior to completing residency he was involved in the Haiti Humanitarian Mission Trip where he provided dental care to the underserved regions of Port au Prince.
