Dr. Brown is a 1980 graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine and completed his postgraduate clinical training in cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Penn, studying analytical cardiovascular physiology as a Fellow of the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. Dr. Brown has spent the majority of his professional career as a faculty member at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. He has also held teaching and research positions at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Florida, and the University of Michigan. At Tufts, he taught veterinary students and trained veterinary specialists at one of the busiest clinical practices in the country. Don retains his affiliation with Tufts and contributes to veterinary continuing education across the country.
