Dr. Eric Stine was born in Rochester, Minnesota and grew up near Green Bay, Wisconsin. He received a B.S. degree from Carroll University outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and in 1998 received a D.D.S. degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He attended an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at The Ohio State University, receiving a M.S. degree in 2002. He served as a registrar in Sunderland, England as part of his residency program.

The experience helped him gain insight into a national health care system as well as further his training in maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction.
