Dr. Erickson is a Board Certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University and went on to receive a Doctorate of Medicine from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He subsequently completed orthopaedic surgery residency training at the University of California – Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.

Following residency training, Dr. Erickson served as a staff orthopaedic surgeon in the United States Air Force for seven years, with duty assignments at Travis Air Force Base in Northern California, RAF Lakenheath in the UK, and Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. While stationed at Offutt AFB, he also provided orthopaedic trauma care at Creighton University Medical Center.
