Dr. Ian Thompson established Springfield Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Institute in 2005 shortly after completing his sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship in Taos, New Mexico. He received his undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and his medical education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical Education and Research Center at Michigan State University.
