I first became interested in orthopedic surgery when I was treated for a knee problem at age twelve. During high school and college, I played soccer and occasionally needed the guidance of an orthopedic surgeon. During medical school, an orthopedic surgeon removed a benign tumor from my knee.
Each experience left an impression on me as I was able to rely on the expertise of an orthopedic surgeon to return me to the playing field or my normal routines. Through these interactions, I decided to pursue orthopedic surgery. Orthopedic surgery allows me to guide patients through injuries that will heal with conservative treatment and to correct those injuries that must have surgical intervention. It is very gratifying to assist my patients through their injuries and improve thier lives in a meaningful way.
