I grew up with a strict schedule of classical dance training with my sights set on becoming a prima ballerina. My mom was in the medical field and my dad was a computer engineer so it was no surprise that I also loved and excelled in math and science classes. After realizing that dance was going to remain a hobby (I was too tall to be a ballerina), I decided to attend the University of California, Santa Cruz where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Biology.
