Dr. Stephens was born and raised in Springfield, IL and attended Rochester High School. He completed his bachelor’s in chemistry in 2006 from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He then pursued his dental degree at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine graduating with honors in 2010. Following his dental training, he completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery internship year at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign.

He then completed a 4-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Banner University Medical Center/University of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ, earning his specialty certificate in 2015. In August 2015, he was employed at Christie Clinic in Champaign, IL and took trauma call at Presence Covenant Medical Center. He was given the opportunity to return to his hometown, and thus joined Springfield Associates in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in August 2016. His fiancé Karina is a full-time mom to their daughter Kinley.
