Dr. Mike Karandikar practices neurosurgery with a special emphasis on spinal disease. Dr. Karandikar attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas before completing his residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.He completed a Spine Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University and a Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. He has won awards for academic and research excellence, including the Bialer Prize in Chemistry, the Doris Cohen Award, a Biophysics Research Prize from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and an Alfred Gilman Research Award. Dr. Karandikar has been published several times in medial journals including the Journal of Neurosurgery.
