Dr. Mike Smith founded Clairmont Animal Hospital in August 1990. He is a graduate of Tulane University and the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Smith has spent 31 years practicing veterinary medicine in Florida and Georgia, and his special areas of interest include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, ultrasound, oncology, urology, laser surgery, and most recently rigid endoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery.

Dr. Smith is credentialed in TTA surgery, ALPS minimally invasive bone plating, and Adipose Derived Stem Cell Therapy. In his leisure time, he enjoys water sports, camping, reading, woodworking, and spending time with his wife and daughter. He has two cats, two dogs (a black lab and a shih tzu), and numerous other pets.
