Dr. Peter D. Gauger was raised in Tacoma. He graduated from the historic Stadium High School and remains a proud Tiger alum today. Both of Dr. Gauger’s parents are medical doctors who practiced in Tacoma for over 20 years. They helped instill a natural interest in the healthcare field. Dr. Gauger attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and studied Cellular Biology as well as Ancient History. After only two and a half years in college, he was accepted early into the University of Washington School of Dentistry.

Dr. Gauger completed dental school earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2009. A natural interest in the medical-surgical side of dentistry inspired Dr. Gauger to pursue Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery as a specialty. He began specialty training immediately following completion of dental school. Dr. Gauger was one a very few who are accepted to UW for both Dental School and Surgical Residency. Dr. Gauger continued his training at the University of Washington and completed a four-year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
