He completed pediatric residency at Duke University Medical Center and sports medicine fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Akron. He has board certification in both general pediatrics and primary care sports medicine. He has special interest in sport related concussions, adolescent back pain and non-operative treatment of traumatic and overuse musculoskeletal injuries.

As part of the VISM sports medicine team, Dr. Miller adds expertise in sports related concussions. He incorporates ImPACT, the latest technology in computerized neurocognitive testing, into his management of concussion. ImPACT testing provides a more objective measure of a person’s memory, cognitive processing speed and reaction time after a concussion. Dr. Miller is one of only a few Certified ImPACT Consultants in Hampton Roads. Dr. Miller serves as team physician for Bayside High School and several other local high schools.
