Dr. Howard earned his undergraduate degree at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY and served 5 years in the Army as an engineer officer. He earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences School of Medicine and completed a residency in Family Practice at DeWitt Army Community Hospital in 1987 and a primary care sports fellowship at the USUHS and Nirschl Orthopedic Sports Clinic in Arlington, VA in 1996.
