William W. Colman M.D., board certified orthopedic surgeon, is the managing partner at Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University and continued his education by receiving his orthopedic training at the New York Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. He completed a fellowship in total joint replacement at Insall-Scott-Kelly Institute in New York City where he provided clinical services for the New York Knicks, Yankees, and Liberty sports teams. Subsequently Dr. Colman became a professor at the University of California San Francisco where he specialized in surgery of the knee, hip and shoulder. His research interests included artificial joint biomechanics and the use of computers to improve surgeon accuracy and education.
