Joshua Metzl, MD is a fellowship trained, board certified orthopaedic surgeon that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle injuries. He serves as assistant team physician for the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, he completed his medical degree from the University of Missouri in 2006, where he graduated cum laude. Dr. Metzl performed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, followed by a foot and ankle fellowship at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dr. Metzl joined the Steadman Hawkins Clinic-Denver in 2012. His practice interests include forefoot disorders (bunions, hammertoes, hallux rigidus), ankle instability, sports injuries, fractures, arthritis, ankle replacement, flatfoot and posterior tibial tendon disorders. He has presented his research at several national meetings and is currently working on projects related to minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair, metatarsal fractures in athletes and ankle arthroscopy.
