Dr. McAuliffe grew up in Aurora, Colorado. His undergraduate education was at Arizona State University and he graduated summa cum laude in Economics and Journalism. From there he went to medical school at Pennsylvania State University. He completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. His medical interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound, electrodiagnosis, regenerative medicine and interventional spine procedures. He has done research and published peer-reviewed articles on the localization of arteries in the epidural space in order to help physicians perform safer spine procedures. In addition, he has published papers and written book chapters on discogenic low back pain, Parsonage-Turner syndrome, adductor tendon injuries, and rotator cuff calcific-tendinopathy. Outside of clinic, Dr. McAuliffe enjoys hiking, photography, reading fiction, and watching movies.
