Dr. Thomas Powell is a physician who specializes in orthopedic surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has expertise in arthroscopic surgery and special interests in trauma, sports medicine, and adult reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Powell earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 1991. He completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi in 1996. Dr. Powell has served as chairman of the department of surgery, credentials committee chairman, and president of the medical staff at Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham. He currently serves on the Board of Governors at Brookwood Medical Center and on the AO/ASIF orthopedic faculty.
