Dr. Wayne Tipps completed his undergraduate studies at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He received his dental degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1967 and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Emory University Hospital.

Following two years of service as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in the United States Air Force, he returned to his hometown of Chattanooga to begin private practice.

Dr. Tipps maintains staff membership at all Chattanooga-area hospitals and has served in various committee positions at their institutions.
